Water in the fridgador.
Hey CL members,
I've had a new wine cooler set up for a week or so now (vinotemp 28 bottle, Target special). The water tends to pool a little in the indentation at the bottom before it exits the unit. I put two folded pieces of paper towel on the sides of the hole to prevent a new drops from splashing (it's not a pool, just being safe). I was wondering what everyone else with a fridge does to prevent or eleminate this problem. Also, what do you guys do with the exit tray in the rear. I was thinking of putting cut up pieces of a sponge in the slots to soak up water so it doesn't overflow if I leave the unit for extended periods of time (weeks). Any ideas here? Look forward to your thoughts and ideas. MDD. |

This is from AKmik on another site.
"Also if you guys discover your units are not draining do not be surprised. The drain is a piss poor design, it is not a straight thru drain , it goes down then hits an elbow and then down and out, and even better mine was clogged with the insulating foam from the assembly line. I drilled straight thru with a 3/8" drill bit right out the bottom of the cabinet then epoxied a plastic tube in place, so I can either have it drain into the pan or slip a drain line over the protruding plastic tube and use a plastic bottle to catch the condensation. I tried both and it now works like a charm. That sounds bad but it was an easy fix, and now there is absolutely no residual condensation in the cooler." I thought I read somewhere, that someone had the condensation drip into their beads/foam to keep them moist. Not sure how it's done though. Hope it helps |
