But I had to rip everything out and start over since the glue odor never left the cooler. I even waited 2 weeks!!! I started over using Elmers Carpenters Glue and double-sided tape works VERY WELL with thin sheets...and NO smell!! Now my cooler is kicking ass!
I used liquid nails on my current coolerdor, and it was just fine after a week. Part of the process of cleaning (or rather de-smelling) a new coolerdor for me involves an extra step I don't think I ever mentioned. I go to PetSmart and get a big bundle of hampster bedding which is mostly cedar chips, and spread that in the coolerdor. Close the lid and leave it for a week. Throw the whole bunch of it away and leave the cooler open for a day or two and it's fine. Really... <G>

Now bear in mind that I usually "spot-glue" with the liquid nails, not smear it on like frosting on a cake...

I highly recommend you do not use glue at all. Think of the hundreds (maybe thousands) of dollars worth of cigars you will store in there! You don't want them picking up any chemical odors at all!
Double sided tape is a good suggestion. I used very small stainless steel sheet metal screws when I lined my cooler with cedar. Pre-drill the wood, but the sheet metal screws self start in the cooler's plastic and hold well. No bad smells and easy to replace if you decide to for any reason!

Gorilla Glue? Can't remember that having a distinct smell. Or Elmer's - hell you can EAT that stuff...
Wouldn't the adhesive from the tape have an odor as well? Probably insignificant overall...

The carpenter glue is odorless once dried....but the tape at first, well smells like tape! LOL But once all the cedar is in there and then the cigars...that smell is gone and all you smell is the tobacco combined with the cedar!!

I agree with this. Carpenter glue is the way to go.

You should be fine with a high quality water resistant wood glue. Dont over do it, it doesnt take much to get a good bond. Either that or just use some drywall or wood screws if your cedar is thick enough.
