Hygrometer calibration

I just bought a digital hygrometer. And there is nothing that says it needs to be calibrated and I don't see where you could adjust it. Is this normal?

Or do I do the salt calibration overnight and see how close to 75% it is?

Any thoughts?

What make/model is it?

Only some hygrometers are able to be adjusted after you calibrate it. If yours can't....just remember the difference. If you do the salt test and it reads 73%...you know you're 2% short on whatever the hygrometer says.

Do a search for calibration methods. I don't think you're supposed to do the salt test with a digital hygrometer. It should be set from the factory.

It's made by Madelaine, Inc.

I bought it at the Tinder Box. Not sure about the model.

It should be pre-calibrated. Stick it in your humi and see what it says.

Buy a boveda calibration pack. They're cheap and you'll never have to worry again.

You're probably right with the do-it-yourself- salt test method. I'm pretty sure the hygrometer will be fine in a Boveda calibration pack though.

Heartfelt sells a Boveda and digital hygrometer combo...
