One of my boxes I built.
This box isn't a humidor but I can build them just like this. I don't do this for a job but I really enjoy building them and if one happens to sell than so be it. I just thought I'd show one of the styles I can do. I even make the wooden hinges. I'm currently working on an Egyptian style humi with drawers and doors in the same woods you see in this one. I happen to have a great BIL that I regularly enjoy a drink and a cigar with so I'm building him one now. As soon as it's done I'll post pics. If anyone ever needs a little assistance with woodworking I'll be glad to help if I can. Seems like a great bunch here. i look forward to chatting with you all.

Nice craftsmanship-Nice Hinge's also-If you can get it lined with Spanish Cedar and make it 12" L X 10" W X 4 1/2" Deep (w/a divider) those would be some nice pick ups. Great for your Go To Humi while your cabinet humi's are curing your fine tobacco products. Very nice -- I like this allot! PM me when you get the other one complete.

Thank you gentlemen. This was a curio box I sold to a former employee. The one I'm building now is over 1 foot tall and will have 3 drawers and 2 doors to cover the drawers. It has a taper from bottom to top of 7 degrees as per the Egyptian style and has a hand made crown molding at the top. This one will be the most elaborate one to date. My BIL says not to post until it's finished, since it's for him, I'll have to let him be the first to post it. I really look forward to building more. As I said before, if I can assist any of you please feel free to contact me.

That is amazing craftsmanship... you should be proud of yourself bud. I wish I could had woodworking skills like that... or woodworking skills at all..

Bill,
That is amazing work. The corners, are those veneer inlays or some sort of elaborate box joint? I'd love to know how you make your hinges if you don't mind sharing. |
