Here's what I call my Portidor.

Here's what I call my Portidor. It's made from curly Walnut, hard Maple, Teak (from the kitchen I built) and lined with Spanish Cedar. It'll hold 3 medium Cigars nicely in your shirt pocket. This is the only one of these I ever completed. The second one I tried put me in the emergency room X-Mas day with the tip of one of my fingers missing, thanks to the router table. I was trying to build one for my BIL. It grew back after a few months thank God. I have a new way to do them now that I'll have to try soon. Enjoy.

Please enjoy? Damn what a tease!!! Just kidding...

That is perhaps the best looking portable carrier/humi I have ever seen. I love the integrated hinge... top notch craftsmanship there! Very, very nice!

Thanks everyone. Before I can try to sell one of these, I need to try the new way I have in mind to make them first. As i said before, I nipped the tip of one of my fingers off in the router table on my second attempt. The method i use now is dangerous to your limbs. Unless of course you like the flavor of blood in your cigar:imconfused: If you can hold out for a few weeks I promise I'll try some more. I'm working with another member here to make some of my work available on her website asap. I have an artisan fair in which I'm the feature artist on Oct 20th & 21st. Once I get that out of the way and I finish my BILs Humidor then I can get on making some more pieces. I hope I'm not breaking any rules here. Please let me know if I am. I like it here.hoohoo: I also do segmented wood turning. I even have an idea for a round Humidor too.

I can sympathize. I've come close a few times. It doesn't take long to chew up a finger, does it? As my shop teacher in high school used to say, "There is nothing worse than the sound of your fingers hitting the wall behind you."
