Water pillows vs. Beads
Hey everyone. I've been using water pillows in my humidors lately and they definitely work fine. My question is; should I switch to the beads? It seems the more I read the more I see that the beads really are the way to go. But are they cost effective compared to the water pillows?

I use Water Pillows for long shipments (Overseas). From my understanding they aren't as good at regulating humidity as the beads so in my humidors I use the beads. I strongly suggest the Puck from Cigarmony!

Water pillows are a temporary humidification device from what I've always seen. Once you go with the beads, you'll never use anything else. Viper is having a sale on them this month I think so check out www.heartfeltindustries.com.

depending on the size of your humi, you may want to think about a electronic humidifier. Such as a oasis or hydra

The beads are basically good forever. The pillows have a fairly short life time(about 8 recharges and each time they last a little less time). Beads also have another property that other humidification devices lack. They can also "remove" excess humidity. Beads are about the only device that will regulate, not just add to.

Get the beads...be a believer
They work great and don't need too much care to keep your humidor at the perfect level of humidity.

Ditto, the puck is definitely the easiest and most effective cigar humidification device known to man.
