Glass Top and Display Humidors

I have a lot of glass in my humidor but I keep it in the basement so no sun light effects it. I wouldnt get it near the sun.

On topic, you could install some drapes if your humidor really gets all that much sun. Or on a more practical note, store the cigars in empty boxes. Or just cover the glass top with something, maybe a square of leather or otherwise nice looking material and, wham, you have a new place to put a glass of your favorite spirit.

well, i live in canada were it can get a little warm in the summer time. i have a condo with out AC (stupid me), but i have found a solution in my smokeing room to stop heat from getting to out of control. i have put tin foil on my windows shinny side out, this reflects all the sunligh off the window, keeping that room like 5 degrees cooler then the rest.. it really works, i know its weird.

Not too weird, poor folks (me as a kid) have been doing it for years

I really considered this when nudging my wife to get one for me last christmas. She wanted a glass top for the looks. i was just too concerned about sun, temp, issues with the glass (and my carelessness sometimes). Went with typical non glass, threw in my plugged in Oasis, on top of my dresser and I am pretty care free. Just an opinion from a panic prone middle aged man.
