A once read where wrappers are more porous at 65% or less, so it always made sense to me to store them at <65%. When I'm ready to smoke them I move them to a desktop humi for a week or two at about 68-70%. I think they smoke better when they are a little wetter. Maybe it has something to do with the less porous nature of the wrapper at higher humidities - I don't know... just thinking thru the keyboard. Anyway, it's a personal preference that seems to make sense and works well for me. My desktop can hold about 50 cigars, so when I get down to about 10 I put in another 30 or so. It helps keep my storage cabinet closed for longer periods of time.

Went with 65% beads based on many recommendations and it's always worked for me, so I haven't tried 70% yet.

I use all 65% all the time, 70 seems a touch high for me.

i notice a difference between a 65 and 70 in smokability. a few years ago i never thought i would have. to tell you the truth though, your humidity is measurable but it does depend how often you open your environment up to the elements. fluctuations exist whether you use a bead or an oasis.

I've been using 70%'ers for quite awhile now and have had no problems. I'm sure my humi's aren't the greatest, so the 70% beads keep my humi's in the upper 60% range.
