Looking for an inexpensive humidor

The old lady said to start looking for a humidor cabinet or something along those lines for storing my cigars. I am just out of room.

I need it to meet certain criteria.

I would like it to look nice so I can keep it in the living or dining room. Hold around 500+ smokes.

And not coast too much over $200...

She wants to get me one for my birthday in March. If it cost too much over $200 I will fork in the difference.

I will accept an imperfect or discontinued model or even a used one...

Any suggestions? Please post links!

Thanks!

That thing looks huge..

but only 150 count? Is that a midget pulling a stogie from it? Or, more likely, is it only a humi in the top part, the rest is storage for other crap?

Ah I misread...still, it looks mighty large even for a 300 count

Cheap Humidors has nice ones, and so does Thompsons. Just google cheap humidors and you will get tons of vendors and you can compare prices. Also check ebay, however be careful as you will need to make sure the humidors are what you are looking for, so I would always email the seller.

I think the secret to getting a really good deal on a Humi is patience...

Search your local Craigslist, and yes...on EBay, but be prepared to see the same thing over and over again on both...

Every once in a while you'll find a gem.

Here recently on Craigslist I found a cabinet style Humi, 4' tall, glass front that was gorgeous...listed at $175. I missed it by five minutes...someone rightfully snapped it up as my guess is on the open market it would have gone for $500-$1000.

Another option is to look at events at local Brick and Mortar shops...boomerd35 got an awesome $800 CAO Cabinet there in a raffle...I picked up a large CAO Cx2 desktop humi and some other prizes with purchases...

Additionally, as I'm bragging about my girl on the list...you CAN find really good deals on EBay on awesome products...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

That's the one I found yesterday and my girl snapped it up for my VDay present...

I just saw this one on EBAY from Tampa, who have gotten rave CS reviews here on Cigar Live...

http://cgi.ebay.com/TRIVOLI-CABINET-...QQcmdZViewItem

It's a little more expensive, but if you look at $400 shipped to your door for a 1000 count...it might be worth your while

Good cabinet humidors are expensive and you'll be hard pressed to find a well-built one for only a few hundred dollars. Like most things, a quality cabinet is not going to be inexpensive. I'm saving up for one of these:

http://www.famous-smoke.com/cigars/s...cfm/inum/24928

In the meantime, the cigars are in some Craftman's Bench humidors, which are made by the J.C. Newman Company. They're well made and hold a bunch of cigars.

Enjoy the hunt for that humidor you want and enjoy your smokes,
Don

IMHO you can not go wrong with Tampa Humidor. Mike Howe is a gem over there and he has lots of scratch and dents from time to time. In fact, I think he lists them on his site as well. As for them being damaged, I can hardly tell anything is wrong unless they point it out to me. Having bought over 20 humidors from him, I can say I am a good judge of what he has and how they perform. Just cant beat them...Check them out...tampahumidor.com!

Jim, I somehow thought you worked at a smoke shop. It's going to be tough for a cab for 200. The biggest prob on a cab is going to be shipping will knock you out of the park on your target price. I might be able to help. Pm me if your interested. This one is 200 but the ship will get you. There are some real nice ones for under 300 but it's out of the target range. We do have the tax checks coming out in a few months since the bill just passed but it's for your bday in March. Mine too. Let me know if I can help you. T
