I've read severl threads dealing with beads and wanted to know, if anyone had a spare minute, what the big advantage is over the "old school" foam humidifier. Is it standardization of the humidity? I have two large rectangles in my humidor and did experience some "spiking" by filling both with H20, however, I just had to test how much to fill. Now I rotate which one gets the water and I'm able to keep the humidity within +/- 1 degree. What is the big benefit of the beads? Thanks in advance for any or your responses.

I tried a few different ones, and ended up with Nick and Johnny. I smoked cigarettes for 30 years, and needed something with enough whack to satisfy.

The advantages with beads are that you don't have worry as much. You just mist them with distilled water and they will hold your humidity pretty tight. When you see most of them have turned white, just mist again. The other thing is if you get some very humid days in your area the beads will absorb moisture too. Another big plus is you don't need to buy 50/50 solution.

Roger, over. Makes sense to me. The more protection and less work for me..the better. I'll look into them. Thanks.
