BTW I don't know how old the Maple was but the Bubinga tree was over 800 years old and 8 feet in diameter. It was purchased in Germany for 250K and imported into the USA from what I understand.

One tree that was over 80 feet long and 8 feet in diameter. This wood goes for 80.00 bucks a board foot. Can you say CHACHING! Fortunately the whole project is only about 2-1/2 BF. My piece of the tree is like a piece of bark.
