Hunidifiers for Closet Humidor

I plan on making a closet into a humidor soon. I have been checking humidifiers to use in it. It is prob only about 2 feet wide by 5 feet long, something like that. Could I use an Evaporative Humidifier like this one http://lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=pr...257&lpage=none It has a good price and an adjustable humidistat. What do you think?

I'm sure that would work great, if not too well. You'd have to play with the settings to get it to not over-saturate the room, but it would work.

Hi Frank:

You'd do even better with a Cigar Oasis II:

http://tampahumidor.com/sd4/product/...is-ii-1462.cfm

Think of it this way: you'll be investing a lot of money into your smokes, so don't skimp on a cheap humidifier that could ruin your stogies by over saturating the closet. The Cigar Oasis II is inexpensive and made to keep your stogies at the right level of humidity. It's an excellent investment into your future smoking enjoyment.

Have a great Thursday,
Don

I look at those today but I was worried about it not being able to humidify that large an area. The closet is between 10 and 18 sg ft. The one I posted has a a gauge on it that cuts it off at the right humidity. But I want all feedback. Howland you out there anywhere? Would love to hear what you have to say since you have a whole room humidor.

HEY FRANK, It's an evaporative system. You don't have to use distilled h2o. And like Joeybear said, You'll just have to tweek it into range. It should suit your (Closidor) just fine. Depending what's on the walls, And how tight the seal on the door is, Will determine how much h2o you'll use.
The cigar oasis would not cover that much room. Just one factor would be the door seal. Frank, I'll PM you my #, call me.

Thanks Gerry. I was planning on putting a threshold at the door and weathersealing it.
