Lost my keys!

So whatever reason, my keys to the humidor have just disappeared. And while they've got to be in my room somewhere, I just can't seem to find the darn things. So fellow BOTL's and members of CL, is there a way I can still open the humidor without the keys? They're very simple short keys like so: . So I'm asking for any of the BOTL's on here with a past history of lock picking (no questions asked, promise!) to help me figure out a way to get back to my cigars. I've tried bending a paper clip into the appropriate shape and then twisting to try an open it, but I'm pretty sure I'm not doing it right.

Send the Humi to me & I'll open it for you & send it back!
Seriously,I wish I lived closer to you.I could get it open no problem.
I'd just use my Humi key,it's the same 1.If you don't find it let me know,I think I have an extra key I will send you.

Hehe, lock picking was a hobby of mine for a while, I've still got my tools around somewhere. Anyways, the locks on humidors are pretty simple locks to bypass. You've got the right idea, but generally paper clips don't have the strength to rotate the locking mechanism and unlock the lock.

Go to a hardware store and they should have skeleton keys that should work.

Thanks guys! I'll check around the hardware stores and keep trying with the paper clips. I'll also be looking for the keys to, but things do have a habit of disappearing in my dorm.

ahem.. not that I go aroud picking locks on humidors or anything... but y'all are right... these arent exactly made for extreme locking. Ive gotten into mine with one of those lil eye glass screw driver thingys. Not the smallest one, but a size up. Flathead. A lil jiggle, a lil wiggle (no jokes boys! LOL) and waaalaa!

If it's anything like the lock on my safe at home... a screwdriver can open it. Says a lot about my storage of valuables doesn't it?

Call a locksmith and e-mail him the picture you have. Maby they could point you in the right direction. Good luck.

Well I've managed to get pretty good with a safety pin and I'm able to open it with some minimal effort involved. I'm still going to be checking the hardware stores though, as well as periodically tearing my room apart looking for those damn cheap skeleton keys. Thanks guys!

Well, Matt did you check next to your camera? You probably left it there when you took the picture! he he Have you tried emailing the humidor manufacturer (i.e. Savoy or whoever) or possibly checking with your B&M to see if they can locate a replacement humidor key to sell ya? You would think that it would be an easy generic thing to find. Good luck.

For everyone that offered tips and advice, thank you!

I finally found my keys everyone! I was doing laundry earlier today and when I was taking some clothes out of the washing machine, I heard some clinking around that was much different sounding than the usual change. Yep, I had somehow left the keys in pants and they had been sitting in there the entire time I was tearing apart my room. But hey, at least they're clean now!
