Ok I maybe old school but,

I bought this item a few months back...

The most advanced conventional humidifier on the market!

From Humi-Care® - the crafty fellas behind those nifty crystal gel humidification jars - the new Humi-Care HX10 humidifier delivers that same hassle-free humidification but in conventional casing. Inside are specially formulated crystals containing propylene glycol to chemically balance the humidity level in your humidor. The crystal gels inside expand after absorbing distilled water and contract when it’s ready for a refill!

Now I ask you, there are no "contracted" crystals to be found like when I loaded it:errrr:
What was once a full gelatinous mass at charge up is now empty with just a few nuggets inside. WTF

This pos was so expanded when I charged it up that it popped open and dumped the wet mass of goo on my smokes when I first got it that I had to lay some tape on the sides to keep it together. So now I am pissed again. Its useless. nothing left to recharge!

I'll stick with the old absorbent deal with glycol liquid. I want my money back!

I had one of those, (Humi-Care HX10), free from CI after a purchase awhile back. Same thing happened. After filling it up the little gel peices started popping out everywhere. I threw it away. I do use the jars but am considering picking up some beads.

I used to get fustrated with my sticks every weekend, one sunday I almost gave up my hobby for good.......until I discovered (with help here from my BOTL) the beads. Now I traded my "hobby" for a stress free "lifestyle" with a humidor full of yummy sticks.

Yeah I just got one a few days ago and it looked like it was already charged. Like I took the first lid off (the one without holes) and the real lid looked like it had distilled water on it still so I decided not to put anymore in it and my hygrometer has been reading 67% ever since. Yours may have already been charged and that's why the gel things may have been popping out.
