Tubos - remove from tubes?

I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for, so here it is.

I recently bought a box of Perdomo ESV 91' Nobleza Tubos. The sticks come in nice aluminum tubes. There is no humidification element in the tubes, like you find in the end of most of the glass tubes.

My question -

Should I put the tubes in my humi as is, remove the sticks and just put them in the humi, keep them together in the original box, or what?

I always put them in the Humi and unscrew the bottom. If I am low on room in my boxes I remove them from the tubes.

I heard alot of people say the same thing and I heard alot of people say leave them intact and don't open till your ready to smoke them I myself have a box of oliva tubos that I keep closed think about it the go to the B&M's in closed tubes and stay there sometimes for a year or so and never get opened till they are purchased and there fine.

True but... There is no way of knowing if some moron has opened the tube and put it back. I would ony be comfortable leaving as is if I purchased a sealed unopened box.

There's no special air or anything in there. If they get opened it's no big deal, you can store them either way. They stay closed in the store for the same reason boxes are sealed, that's how they come. As long as they stay in a humidified environment they will be fine either way. If they are closed they will age slower if that's what you're looking for. It's kind of like cello, only no air gets through the sides, just the bottom.

I just take the caps off, that way the cigar can breathe, but its still protected.

I was kind of wondering the same thing...I have some Gurkha Louis XIII Tubos and I did both. I took the top of some and left the top on the others. It seemed to me that the one with the top off was little too moist but not bad. I dunno, Joe brought up a good point; isn't it a matter of personal preference?

Ok, this is a stupid question (I'm a newbie) but does it really help them being in the humi closed up?

I'd take them out. I had a couple of tubos what when I opened them, the cigars were cracked and literally started curling to a small degree.

I'd take em out and smoke em--That's just me--on a serious note though Mike I would tend to go with Duane on this as I had a couple do that very same thing, cracked. I'd open the tops and let em mature with a better atmosphere--PM
