Humidor Setup
Well I need to admit that I don't have a humi yet, but I ordered one earlier this week and it should be in by Friday! Its only a 100 count, but I do not imagine needing a bigger one right now. If I do, I will use a cooler. I have been looking for what the best way to set up a humidor is and have gotten lots of different answers. Some say wipe the walls, some say don't; some say use beads, some say only water is fine. This may have been discussed on a previous thread, but I am too lazy to look right now. So throw some suggestions my way. I appreciate it.

Here is what I did.
I used only distilled water. I did wipe the walls lightly. I placed a new sponge damp with distilled water into the humi (sitting on a piece of plastic). I also had a sot glass of distilled water, but I'm sure you can do either/or. I checked it once a day and added water to the glass and sponge. I did this for two or three days. Don't leave them in for too long (like a week) or you'll get mold. Once the level of water in the glass or the sponge stays fairly stable over a day remove both, add beads and cigars and wait a day or two and check the Rh%. Worked for me.

Use only distilled water. I have wiped the inside with a spomge on my first two Humis, but not my last one. My last one has been my best one There are many reasons for that. What I would recomend is this.
1, Place the shot glass, or sponge in plastic using distilled water only. I would not even check it for two or three days. And would most likely leave it in (refill when needed) for a week to ten days. Then I would place my wet (with distilled water always) Heartfelt RH Beads in the Humi. Use plenty.Just follow the instructions on their site and the ones included with their product. I would let these set for a few days and if the RH is stable then I would begin adding cigars. Slow and steady wins the race here my friend. In the end it is not likely that you will make any devestating mistakes.

Everything people have suggested here - I might add one thing--Just mist the beads --Do Not WET the beads--could also cause mold----get a mister and mist lightly. I took my beads and set them in the box opposite the Distilled water and the beads will pick up the H2O that way. Good Luck........

For a 100 count I would order the beads in th tube they take up less space.
