The CO is overkill in a cooler. Coolers lose VERY little humidity. The beads should do the job just fine by themselves. When I had a cooler, I went 6 months w/o ever having to add water to the beads.

Joe,

Keep in mind that the CO is really good at dumping humidity into the air, but does squat for removing it. If you are suffering an excess of humidity, remove it or turn its humidistat way down. You should also know what humidity level your beads are calibrated to. They will maintain the humidity close to their target, so if you got 70 percent RH beads, you may have difficulty getting them to stabilize the humidity at 68.

I have successfully used a CO in my coolidor so if it is a larger one, I don't have a problem with keeping one in there, but you should probably dial it down a bit.

Any help with links to an 'oust fan' what it is and where to get one. Also, does the cooler hold temp just as good as humidity? Thanks for your knowledge. I am going to make one tonight.
