Humidor Discoloration
Ok so here is an odd thing. I opened up my humidor (That I'm in the process of bringing up to the right RH so its without cigars) and I am faced with a blueish splotch of something on the wood above where I have my beads. I don't think it was there before today, I've never noticed it before though.
My first thought was, "aww crap it's moldy" but after careful examination I found it wont scrape off or anything. Can mold grow in a humidor like that? So as not to smell or scrape off? I took some pics but I don't think they came out too well. I'll try to get some better ones in the morning. Let me know what you think alright? Thanks Chris |

It could just be a water stain. Some woods turn black/blue/grey like that whae they gey wet. I really hope it's not mold.

I was thinking that was a possiblity but I've never heard of a humidor doing it.
Thanks Mike. |

Does kinda look like a weird water stain. I have one that did that several years ago and still looks the same.

I'll wait and see if anything else happens with it overnight |

Try sanding it off if it bothers you. Use 220 grit or finer.

Kind of looks like mildew, but that would scrape off.

I can't tell by the picture, does it continue into the piece that it butts into or is it just in the one piece?
It looks like a water stain. It may have been lighter before the moisture hit it so it may not have been as noticeable. |

I have to agree with Cypress on this one. Take some very fine sand paper to it!!!

I'm thinking it's probably a water stain. I'll pick up some sand paper today and go at it.
Thanks for the input everyone Chris |
