Closet Humidor

First of all I would like to introduce myself, I am a newbie to the site and I am hook almost as much as cigar smoking! I can't think of a better place to get help than this.

Here is the issue.

I am looking to turn a closet into a giant humidor and need some assistance.

Where can I get some info on how I might go about doing this?

Do I have to line the walls with spanish cedar?

What are the issue I need to be concerned about with? and how do I fix them? (i.e. RH, temp, seal)

How is the best way to seal the door, or does it even need to be sealed?

where do I find a humidifier that will accomidate this size humidor?

And last but not least is this the craziest thing you have ever heard of???

thx for the help and replies!!

Re: Closet Humidor

First welcome to C.S. I can tell you that I would line the closet with spanish cedar at least if if were dry wall in the closet. But as long as everthing is in cigar boxes you might get away with it. I remeber somone posting a pic a while ago about the closet a dor, was it klugs? Well, welsome again and enjoy!

Re: Closet Humidor

here is a nice humidifier
CheapHumidors.com

or you can PM Viper about Beads(my preference) Klicky!

Look here in the Archives as well... HERE

And of course, the FOGs on here...MoTheMan, DaKlugs etc... all would be a great source of helpful tips.

Re: Closet Humidor

First, welcome to CS! If you haven't already done so, drop by the newbie forum and give yourself a proper introduction.

I hope you get some good resonses to this thread so I can learn right along with you. I keep eyeing this closet in our den. It would make an awesome walk-in

No. Air renewal is very important, too.
