Might want to crank up the AC upstairs.... My tupperdors stay a constant mid-70s. I've added cedar trays and sheets to help absorb some of the moisture, but no luck.

I don't know Jam. I have 65% beads in my cooler and its holding steady even with the swing in temps here in my office. Every so often it goes up to 67% but thats it. Maybe it's time to go to 65% beads instead of 70%.

I had the same problem. My house is pretty old (built in 1915) so insulation was non-existant. My humi's were going through some radical swings until I found a stable room in my house that stayed cool even on the hottest days. That helped alot. I then began to expariment with different beads and a Cigar Oasis in combination until I could get a stable environment. Now its been holding steady for months.

Kind of an obvious question - but is your hygrometer calibrated. Seems to me if you have 70% beads that are releasing and absorbing humidity, you should be at 70%.
In fact, I use 65% beads and don't even really pay attention to the hygrometer anymore - I just watch the "dryness" of my beads. |

Jam did you find a solution to this? I'm running a 50/50 mix instead of beads and in my Humidor I get 70% in my coolerdor I get 78% tested and swaped both Hygrometers, so it's not that. In the process of building a large Humidor and that should be done and seasoned by the first week of July so I have a temporary problem.
It's driving me nuts I can't figure out why the high humidity in one but not the other. Jim |
