cooler size?
How's this for my first post. i've done a lot of searching (that's how i happened upon this site, i've been a member at CW forum for many years now) and haven't found the answer yet. what size cooler am i looking for?
1) I want to put it upright to store boxes of cigars ( i have a humi for my loose ones). possibly with shelves in the cooler. 2) i'm thinking maximum, 20 boxes. so, what size cooler do i need? is the 100 qt. overkill? will 48 qt. hold 20 boxes? w/o going to the store i can't even begin to picture how big a 48qt. cooler is. thanks. |

If you get the 48 it'll be overflowing in no time.

I overflowed my cabinet a while back and had to get coolers. I started with a 48qt. Way too small for 20 boxes. I got two 100qts off eBay for $30 each. They should be fine for 20 boxes however Go bigger trust me you will eventually need it.

Well, Most of the cigar nuts I know, including myself, use 150qt coolers. You'll have enough room to grow , and if you get the right cooler, don't remember which brand of the top of my head, they have groves on the inside that are ready for ceder shelfs. all you need do is cut to fit.
FWIW: I started with a 50qt, but soon ran out of room. My 150 fills the bill just fine. Edit to add: Dozer posted this pic. you see the inside of the cooler with the groves I talk about above. http://www.cigarlive.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16737 |

costco has a giant Igloo Marine cooler right now. I think its 160q or something. This thing has to be 5 feet long and at least 8 inches deeper than my 48q.
