Bead placement in humi
Well, after putting it off for quite a while with the foam, the humidity got majorly squirelly on me and I decided to go for the beads (stubborn to the end)!
I have a 300 cnt so I went the next size up on the bead tube. My question is: Where is the best place to put them. My 300 count has a top rack/tray and the deep well storage underneath it. Do you guys recommend keeping the beads on the top rack or beneath in the well? Thanks in advance for your recommendations and advice. Hooah! P.S. If this has already been mentioned elsewhere please link me....but I didn't see it. |

I would recommend splitting up the beads and put some in the top and some in the bottom. This way you got everything covered. This is what I do in my two smaller humidors.

I just keep my tube on the top tray, separated from the sticks by a divider.
In the other humis I have, I just took the foam out of my old round humidifiers and filled them up with beads. It works really well actually as long as the broken beads don't fall out. |

I made a bunch of "small" cups by cutting clear plastic cups down (about 2" high) and split the beads up among 6 of them (in a small cabinet - 2 up top and 4 down below). It's easy to monitor them and adding water is a breeze. I actually put water in 3 of them and let the other 3 dry ones keep things just right.

Well, I could split them like you guys are suggesting, but then I'd have to take the tube apart. If that's the case ,I should have bought just a bag of beads and split them in all my humis. Drat!
