Need Help with new Quarantine Humidor (CAO Vision Humi)

I bought this from the local B&M last night and got it home. I put fresh batteries in it and 2 pillow packs as well as my digi hygrometer. My digi is reading 70 but the one on the front of the box says 50-51. I was hoping that someone here had the directions that they could scan for me or tell me how to calibrate it so I get a correct reading. I like the LEDs on it and my wife likes it as well. Hopefully it can be calibrated.

Before you start your new box, you need to prepare it first. If you don't, the dry box acts like a dry sponge and will suck up any moisture you stick in it.

I would rather have not heard that....argh! Never happens when I'm around. Congrats on a DEAL!

Does the meter on the humi have the capability to be calibrated. I've learned here on the board that even digitals need calibration. One of those might be off. A salt test would tell which one if you're sure the box is conditioned.

Sorry I don't have any directions or instructions.

I don't know if it can be calibrated or not......I was looking for the instructions that come with it......looks like my local B&M threw it out.

I just salt tested my digi puck and it is on the money...the CAO box if WAY off.

From CigarAdvisor.com

Q. Is there a way to calibrate a digital hydrometer to see how accurate it is?

A. I'm not aware of any digital hygrometer currently on the market that can be manually calibrated. So, to answer this question, I turned to an expert in the field, Michael Chunko, president of Csonka Products. Here's what he had to say:
"Up until recently, digital hygrometers have never been able to be re-calibrated after manufacturing. There is one out there now that is getting mixed reviews because the technology is new, so it's not that reliable.

Currently, the best manual way of checking hygrometer calibration is with the traditional 'salt test.' For post-calibration on an analog (or a digital with that capability), here's how to do the salt test."
Even if you can't re-adjust your digital hygrometer, at least the salt test will tell you by how much it's off. I have a digital hygrometer that's off by -10% RH. So when it says 59%, I know it's actually 69%. If you can't remember, make a notation on small piece of masking tape and affix it to the front or back of the unit.

No help on the instruction manual, but I've talked to two others who had problems with the hygro reading about 8 to 10 points low.

I have a digi puck hygrometer that can be re-calibrated and I love it. Works great and I can cal it up or down 7%.

I do not know about the CAO vision one due to not having the instruction manual....it might be press button 1 x times and then button 2 x times to enter the cal screen.....Trying to find instructions is hard for this....I did not think it would be that hard.
