Bead question.
I think I'm going to finally have to build a coolidor.
Since my current humi is bursting at it's seams, and I really don't like to keep sticks in my travel humi :arghhhh:-it's off to the store I go. I know my LIVE sticks are on the way, and I want to make sure they are able to get a good home-and it seems like having a cooler setup would make it easier for me to separate sticks for selection/aging/etc. Of course, I know nothing about beads  just that I keep reading that everyone loves them. So I'm hoping you guys could tell me if there is a formula, or something, for knowing how many beads to get? Are they sold by weight, or volume? Do you buy them to humidify cubic feet, or number of sticks? :baffled: I know that a full humi works better-but that might take a while! I just want to be prepared, and make sure no stick gets ruined due to negligent storage. :support: Thanks!

I will add that it is OK to have more beads than the calculator says. It will keep you from having to add water as much. Just remember to only wet 70-80% of them. That way they can absorb excess humidity when necessary.

That's really good to know! Now I can pick up the beads, before I pick out a cooler.
I'm curious about if those '5 day guaranteed cold' coolers are better or worse for this...or does it matter at all?

From what I've read, the 5 day'ers are the ones you want. better seals and such.
Have fun setting it up, and even more fun FILLING it up!!

It will be most fun filling it up. I already got a good start for when it's ready.

That makes since, I should have thought of that! I think we will go out shopping later this evening for the cooler ( = Now I wish I wouldn't have given away my 5day special, 2 years ago ) =
