Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I am still new to this have smoked a little over the years but now want a way to store a few around the house. I have looked at this at Cuban Crafters or they also have one that comes with a 75 stick sampler. Has anyone tried these and can give me a little feedback on the sticks or just save the $30 from the sampler and purchase samples from somewhere else.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I really like the humidors i have gotten from cuban crafters. I first bought this one: http://www.cubancrafters.com/products.php/item_id/280 which came with 15 green label don kikis. at first i thought id never fill it...ha. the don kikis werent the best at first so i sorta "forgot" about em. 6 months later they are quite a bit better.

Around Nov. or Dec. i bought this one: http://www.cubancrafters.com/products.php/item_id/260 which i really like. It seals great. I bout some PG and its right on 70 always. The one I got came with 75 free cigars, which had the same pic as what yours has. But I didnt get those in the pic. I got 75 of the same cigar but 3 different sizes. They are mexican tobacco. At first i thought they were just ok...good smokes to give out to friends. Really smoothe and nutty. But then the beasts took a crazy turn for the worst. Sour...ugh. So right now i have all 75 in a cooler to let them age. I figured if im lucky they will be going through a sick period or something. They've been there for a month or so since ive touched one but a friend smoked one the other day and i took a puff or two to taste test em and they are starting to get a bit better. He said it got that sour deal going about half way or a little more through and tossed it. Hopefully they will perk up and turn out to be ok smokes for doing something that doesnt require much attention or something: mowing, working, yadda yadda yadda. So I guess after rambling off all of this, to answer you question, the humidors are quite good. Especially for the price. The cigars, not great. Don kikis id go for, but the ones i got with my bigger humi, i wouldnt. It all depends if you wanna drop the extra bucks to have something to smoke for the heck of it or to give out to people. Maybe you'd get a better 75 than me. Hope it turns out well for you.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

OK I got to thinking....if you havent decided on if you wanna go with the gars or not....and you have some time before you buy the humi....pop me your addy and I'll send you a few sticks of each size I got. There is no guarantee that they would be the same thing you might get....but you could see if you even sorta like them to see if you wanna pay the extra bucks.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I have bought 5 humidors from CC and have been very pleased with all of them. I have 2 of the Cuban exotica and 2 of the Cuban elegance and 1 Clasico Rosa. They all seal well, are well made and have an excellent finish. The only thing is they don't hold quite what they are advertised to, but I have a lot of large ring sticks so that's to be expected. Be sure to check the closeout page, they sometimes sell humi's with a minute flaw in the finish really cheap. You have to catch them at just the right time though, they sell quick.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I bought (http://www.cubancrafters.com/products.php/item_id/2651) a little over a year ago and have been very happy. Seals perfect and holds humidity where you want it. It was one of the "closeout" scratch and dent deals. Honestly I couldn't find any scratches. The only defect may be a little too much lacquer in one of the seams. I have 100 cigars in it, but I had to take the tray out to do it. Also I have 25-30 robusto and petite coronas so I wouldn't expect to get more than 80 corona-churchill size.
I founded Club Stogie a couple months ago and as everyone warned I headed down the slope and off to the devil site I went. Now about 400 cigars later I had to get another humidor. This time I went with (http://www.bargainhumidors.com/bh/Pr...ductid=HUM-BH2) after reading recs on CS. I would recommend the Vicksburg. For the price you get a bigger humidor and you will probably end up needing it in the future. It also has a glass top like the one you are looking at w/Cuban Crafters, and it is only @ $20 more.
I have not smoked any Cuban Crafters cigars. I jumped on CS to get some recommendations on cigars since I really don’t have much background as a New Guy. I use CS and Top25 cigars (http://www.top25cigar.com/) for recs and bought from CBID. I also didn’t realize the importance of aging. So after buying a bunch of cigars I am content to let them age and so I am glad I have the larger Vicksburg.
I was able to get @ 260 cigars in the Vicksburg, which includes 4 boxes stored in the bottom. I actually need more room and am now getting a “cool”adore for my overflow and the sticks I buy for my military Reserve squadron. Those guys go through them pretty fast so I don’t worry too much about them since turnover go’s quick.

I started carrying CC's humis after testing them out for a couple of months. Great humis for the price!

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

The more I think about it I think I will just order the humidor from there and samplers from other places until I find a few I like. One other question would it cause a problem of keeping the humidity with only a few cigars until I find what I like? On the other hand I would have some around for the non smokers to join in and not waste what I prefer. Oh well most of the time I never know what I'm going to do until I pull the triger.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I have that same humi (along with several others) and it is a great value. I have not had any problems with it at all. I would recommend skipping the bundle sticks too. They are just going to fill the humi to capacity and then you won't have any room for the good stuff. Do some looking around and you will find several threads on good bundle/cheap boxed smokes.
Enjoy filling it.
One final word to keep in mind...BEADS!

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I have bought two Humis from CC and have not had any problems with them. The cigars that came with them do get better with age.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I would also recommend getting a CC humidor. They are great for the money! The one that I have seals great, and has a beautiful finish.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

CC has very good products, and their humidors are top notch. As for the 75 cigars, you may want to read about their cigars; they DO NOT suck but, some of them have a flavor profile that is more toward the Full end of the spectrum. They have some very good brands which are top shelf anywhere; CC Cabinet Series, Beck y CA, La Carolina, JL Salazar, Vegas de Tabacalera, to name a few. Hell, even their dog rockets are better than most.

Re: Cuban Crafters Humidor?

I picked up their VARADERO Treasure Chest on closeout a few weeks ago. Nice looking and has a good seal, plus the price was right.
