Hydra LG

I picked up a Hydra LG off of C-bid (damn you devil site), and it came in today. I needed something a little bit bigger, because it still seems like the Hydra SM (the original) works an awful lot to keep the humidity where I want it. Not only that, but the Hydra SM's fan is making some concerning noise.

A couple of observations (and I will post pics when I get home) right off the bat.

This thing is big. Much bigger than the original for sure. I could probably fit 3 or 4 of the original in the reservoir of the LG.

The reservoir is filled with the green foam. I was kind of hoping it wouldn't be, but it is.

I think I am going to have to re-arrange everything in the cabinet again.

The fans in this thing are big, and are 12 volt (I'm going to be hooking this up to a UPS)

There is no actual specification sheet for these products. Not online, not in the box. Only a directions sheet.

I'm going to hook this pig up tonight. I'll take some pictures of the before and after, and also some comparison shots of the two together for anyone that is interested in going bigger.

Side by side. As you can see, the LG is definitely larger than the original

I had to do some very creative tetris to get everything back in there though...

Ya. I really wasn't expecting it to be THAT big, but damn. Should have no problems now. Just a matter of space at this point. I'll take pics of it in there in a little bit...

hydra LG is on my radar. The twin 120mm fans move some major CFM. the Oasis 2 has twin 40mm fans...whatever the small size is.

I think the big one is even more quiet than the small one as well.

Yes, i think it is "rated" double what the sm is (sm=8cf, lg=16cf). however, it seend like at times the sm would struggle a little bit. I just didn't want to burn it out, I have plans for it.
