Also, just for the record, I have had Maduro cigars sitting on top of natural cigars on top of rosado cigars on top of Dominican cigars, on top of Nic cigars etc..etc.. for years and I have never had any ill effects.

This comes down to personal prefference. Take two identical cigars, age one in cello and age one naked...smoke both after 8 months and decide for yourself.
Thanks Brian for this input. I have always thought in these terms but don't have the stripes to say this to others. I have a coupe of humis with different sticks in them and have no adverse effects of them 'marrying up' but that's just me. The wife claims I have no taste as it is but then I always tell her in reply,,,you married me. I like the cello only because it does give a certain amount of protection to the wrapper as I am always rummaging around and moving them.

Don't want to get the "Frank and Beans"
But have you ever gotten the beans above the frank?

This thread is gettign quit interesting witht hte last few posts.

I like to age alot of my smokes with out cello. I keep cello on some that I know i will be smoking soon that I may have to throw in a case or herfador to take out with me.

I agree with bigfoot to see, take one out of cello and leave on in for some time and see if there is a huge difference.

I do the same thing as Brian and also do not see a difference, " at all"---So as many have said it's a matter of preference--I like my girls naked by the way!

I do like the more intense smell of aging the sticks without the cellos on. Didn't think I would notice a difference since the cello is so thin, but the humidor has a very awesomely strong smell of cigars when I open it to grab one.
