The Puck Humidifier Help.

I am looking for some assistance with the Puck i just got for my Savoy 100 ct humidor. I placed the puck in the humidor about 4 days ago. It is the 65% RH version. I checked on it today and it was still only at 61%. Any suggestions? I do have some of the Xikar Crystal Jars, but i took them out when i started using the puck. Thanks.

I don't usually worry about my hygrometers once I begin using my Puck. In my humble opinion, trust the Puck over the hygro. Probably not what you want to hear, but the Puck hasn't failed me yet!

It can take a while to bring your humi up to 65% depending on how low it was when you put the puck in there. Give it another week or so.

Is your hygrometer calibrated? If so just give it timeyou may have to add more water.

This is most likely due to your hygrometer not reading correctly.

I recommend replacing the battery once a year and calibrating twice a year.

The other thing would be if your interior dimensions of your humidor are too large for the size Puck-ifier that you are using.

The Puck-100 will regulate up to 1050 cubic inches and the Puck-50 will regulate up to 405 cubic inches.

I hope this helps

Listen to Mark he knows LOL. The only thing I can add, and I'm sure it was because it sounds like you was already using that humidor. But was the humidor seasoned already? If not then thats what the Puck is trying to do.

Thanks to all for you input. Yes the humidor was already in use. It still is at 60% I may try to put some more distilled water into the puck, but ill wait another week.

unless the beads are showing white, no need to add more water.

I've got two pucks in two boxes, and both keep the humidor exactly where Mark says they should be.
