Lowest Safe Temp for a Winadoor?

Hello all!

Have a quick question, if you don't mind...I got a wineadoor and everything is going great, rh is about 65%, all my boxes fit (for now) etc...The only problem is that the high temp it goes too is 60 degrees (even though it says 65)...I know the ideal temp is around 65-70, but is 60 too cold?

Thanks for any help!

Just turn the cooler part off and let it sit at RT, if you can. If your RT is suitable, that is.

Well, without the cooler, it gets to about 72-73 which is pushing the high end a little close...

Yes it is. I'm sure someone here has tricks that work. I'm shopping for a wineador right now, so I'll be right behind you on the learning curve.

I cannot comment on how cold is too cold, but I have a Vinotemp 28 from Target and am very pleased. Its highest setting is 67 degrees, and it holds very steady between 66 and 67. My only problem is that if you loose electricity, the thermostat resets to 55 degrees when electricity is restored. This tends to mess up the humidity for a few days. It tends to drops below 60% when too cold and then goes above 70% when warming back up. So I check the temp every few days, especially if I come home and my clocks are blinking, to make sure it is OK.

Ditto what 66stang said. The VinoTemp works great. I keep my really special smokes in it the rest are in coolerdors which work just fine except during the hot Texas summer. Can't afford to keep the AC on cold during the summer so I just have to keep the RH right and keep an eye on things

Mine too. Its a great cooler. My RH dropped but I think the cold weather is making it drop a little.

yes indeed...It said on the box it goes to 65 degrees, but I can't get it above 61...

It is just weird to feel your cigars, and they are kinda chilly...

That is strange. Is it a Vinotemp? I have a 12 bottle Vino and the max is 66. I keep it in my basement and unplug it during the winter, and it stays right around 70 degrees.
