PG solution helps regulate humidity. Chemically, it will release rh up until about 70%, which many cigars like. I would suggest beads for ease of use(I like 65%), cigarmony and heartfeltindustries are two good vendors. Beads will also absorb humidity so if your rh rises above the setpoint they will help keep things in balance.

I know I have the puck for my other humidor that has all my best smokes in it. I was jst gonna use the regular humidifier for my desktop with cheaper smokes. Jst didn't know if you needed the solution.

I don't use anything with PG in it. I use Heartfelt beads mostly. Over the long term, PG will deposit a goo on the inside of your humidor. It is not approved for food grade use in many countries. Straight distilled water is fine. I would use a couple drops of an antibacterial agent on the foam. It is available at hardware stores.

Beads + distilled water works best.

IMHO, using plain distilled water is the best way to go!

In addition, no matter what type of oasis you have, you'd be doing yourself a big favor by getting rid of it and using plain 65% beads. Heartfelt Beads are about the best out there!

To answer the original question as asked. Yes, you CAN use distilled water in green foam humidifiers, but you should us PG solution at least once every 4 refills. PG doesn't evaporate as quickly as water, but will eventually dissipate. You WILL get mold if you never use any PG solution.

Maybe, but after 4 years no mold for me. I will never use PG. Waste of money, imo.
