Palio vs. zino cutter?

hello all,

Which would be a better cutter for me?.... some of you may remember that about a month ago i posted saying that my manual dexterity is not stellar due to my disability. I took your many suggestions under advisement and headed to a few of my local b&m's. I have narrowed my choices down to a Palio or a Zino cutter. I like the Zino because it seems to have a smaller footprint, making it easier for me to make a cut. The Palio seems To be more durable which may be better for me because I tend to drop things quite often and sometimes run them over with my wheelchair.

so Given the above info, would you be so kind to leave your feedback?

Thanks,
-Duncan

I've had my Zino for 15 years. They are indestructable, or nearly so. Plus the Zino gives one great control over the cut. I say, go with Zino . . . but that's just me.

You can't go wrong with either cutter but I prefer the Palio

Can't give you my take on Zino but Palio has never let me down...chalk one up for the Palio here.

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

I have used a Zino for close to 10 years now at least and it still cuts sharp. I want something for larger ring gauges though and the Palio looks like it might come up a bit short there.

I also like the small size of the Zino. no case required

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

I don't know about the Zino but I was down to the Xikar or the Palio myself. I ultimately went with the Xikar. If you've ruled out the Xikar then I'd go Palio. I did really like it so it was a toss up for me and I went Xikar because some guys at the B&M love it and I liked that it was a little different than yer usual cutter.

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

I have the Palio Carbon Fiber and the Xikar Xi with wooden grip. I have to say that although I use them both, I would have to give the advantage to the Palio. Super cutter.

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

Anybody have a link the Zino being talked about? I don't know it. I do know somebody that as a Palio and it broke on him, it was opened to hard and it went from one piece to two. It went back together and still works but now comes apart pretty easy. One thing to keep in mind.

lifetime warranty on that Palio? If so then tell them to send it in for a replacement.

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

I have had a zino for over 10 years and isas good as the day i got it. I also have the palio and very good but seems to get cloged with the snippings in the tracks and can be a pain. I have also been using a small Boston V cutter and it has been great and has stayed way sharp.

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

Good one. I have had my Zino for eight years and won't part with it. They do have a life time warranty and I have never had a bad cut. I do like my friends Palio cutter, but I have big fingers and find my Zino more comfortable. Might I suggest you find someone who has a Zino and one who has a Palio, try them both on a couple of sticks, and see which one is easier for you. Then let us know.

REMEMBER! "Cutters are as personal as the sticks we cut."

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

I love my Palio...the only thing that would make it better is to have a wooden casing instead of plastic...not the burlwood thing. I feel burl is over-used in everything.

Re: Palio vs. zino cutter?

Definitely the Palio. It has a lifetime warranty like most the other high end cutters, and it is easy to use. The Xikar can be dangerous even in nimble hands.
