Heartfelt Tubes?
Looking at one of these...any feedback? Also, do you add water like you do with regular beads?
It's between this and Xikar gel.

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
Get the beads, much less worry, plus they are regulators in both directions, not just adding moisture and they last forever (in theory).

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
I too swear by the beads however did not like the tubes. It was hard to get the beads wet and I've seen others say the same. I just took the beads out of the tubes and into small tupperware containers and have had no problems ever since. Might be easier to just order the bulk beads.

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
I have a 4oz, 65% tube for my 100 count humidor. It works great.
It takes a little practice getting the beads wet, but you'll learn how to do it. Some people take one of the ends off and fill that way. I just use a spray bottle of distilled water and spray the tube directly, shake off the excess and put it back into the humidor. It takes a bit more attention in winter when I have to spray it a bit more often--every couple of weeks. During other periods of the year it will go many weeks before needing more water. If you get one, get one bigger than you need--you won't have to recharge it as often.

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
Heartfelt is fast so it shouldn't take long to get it.
It's a great product that works well.

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
Great product. Highly recommended. Easy to use.
Order the 1/2 lb pouch of beads. You can (and probably will) use them in your tupperdor as your 100 count fills up. |

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
Never used the tubes before, but I love the beads. My cooler has barely left 65% since I got them. If you have a problem with the tubes then buy a cheapo disposable tupperware thing and cut some holes in the lid.

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
I use two 70% tubes in my 175 stick box. It's three levels so I place one on the upper right tray and one in the lower left basement. As said above, I fill more often in winter, when the heats on, but only about every three weeks. Stays between 68-71RH. Love them. I dont yet have a spray bottle, which seems to be the method of choice, so I just drip some water over them with the cap, over a small dish. When I get to the last drips, I use the run-off from the plate. I like them for their consistency and the small space they take up.

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
I use the bead pucks in the lid of my humidor, and tubes in the bottom trays to keep everything consistent. I have 2 tubes about the size of toro's (2 oz???). Overall, I like to keep double the recommended amount in my humidor.
Pop the cap off and slowly spray a stream of distilled water down into the tube. You can see the water travel down. I try to put enough in to go about half way down the tube. Then I put the cap back on, flip it over, and tap the beads down. I give the second side a smaller spray to make sure I don't over wet them. No drips, no mess, straight back in to the humidor. I think that the tubes are much easier to hydrate than the pucks, which need a hard spray to make it through the mesh, then need to be wiped so the excess won't drip on my babies. I can almost guarantee that you will over water your beads the first time, but resist the urge to shake them off because you will also shake off the salt that regulates rH. After a couple of tries, you learn how to do it without completely soaking the beads. |

Re: Heartfelt Tubes?
At first I had used the tubes, but then I needed more as I got more sticks in. I eventually just ordered a 1 lb. bag of the 65% beads and used a small storage container to hold the beads. It works out great for me, specially now since I have enough extra to set up a coolerdor. Beads are a BOTL's best friend!
