I don't use one anymore. Ever since I started using the bead jars, I have not had a reason for a hygometer.

I have 5, 1 is a non adjustable I bought from Heartfelt (they don't sell them anymore), 4 are the non adjustable Springfields from Walmart, they are all off 2 or 3 %, but the readings stay consistent. I salt test and mark the differential ( +2, -3, etc.) on the front. I use beads only in my coolidor and the original humidifiers and beads to stabilize the the rh in my humidors. Using beads the hygrometer reading, for me is only significant when it shows a drop in RH.

Re: Help! All these hygrometers SUCK!

I have 2 Westerns Caliber III That are extremely accurate. I also came across and bought 3 Flukers digital therm/hygro that also are extremely accurate and half the price of the Westerns. They look very similar to the Calibers III. I paid $19.99 plus tax and free shipping from bargainhumidorsinc for the Westerns and $9.99 with free shipping from Leftys Place. Both off Ebay. Occasionally I have to pull the batteries from the Westerns and wipe them clean and reinsert them (display goes dead). Have yet had to do this with the Flukers. I like my Westerns but love the Flukers.

Save yourself some trouble and get an adjustable hygrometer. Salt test it and adjust it to the right setting.

I have 3 Accurites I picked up at Wal Mart and all read accurate with the salt test. I have a friend who has one and he likes it too, I'd try and pick one up they are like 7-9 bucks. The only problem is they are a bit bulky
