I have a 120 qt coolidor and use 1pound of humi beads...that is the mininum you sohuld use from everything I have seen.

You should be able to keep your humidors running if that is your preference. Just know that it will take quite a while to get everything back up to a desirable rH.
Usually, a humidor takes about 3-7 days to get to the proper rH, but that's an empty box. If you have a lot of sticks you'll have a lot more mass to deal with which means more time. You want your rH to come up slowly anyway, else your wrappers may develop "wrinkles". Also, wood swells when humid and shrinks when dry. If your seal isn't very good, then you can temporarily wrap masking tape around the outside where the lid meets the box to keep the moisture in. After you get up to a good rH, your seal will probaly be tighter again. There are plenty of threads about sealing gaps in your lid if you still have problems. |
