How much deviation when calibrating?

I put my digital Hygro Set in the bag with salt yesterday. Today when I cam out it reads 69% humidity. I pulled it out of the bag and tried to use the knob to raise it to 75%, but after cranking the knob all the way up the readout didn't change. So I put it back in the bag with a cap of salt to re-test. So is a 6% deviation normal? Also is there some trick to the calibration knob, or should I just test again and make a mental note instead of adjusting it.

Re: How much deviation when calibrating?

I have 4 Springfield non adjustable purchased fron Walmart. They read between 2 and 4 degrees low when salt tested. I have a non adjustable purchased from Heartfelt it read 1 degree low when salt tested. I keep them in Humi's using beads for humidification. They all seem to vary a degree or two but not a lot.

Re: How much deviation when calibrating?

I would let it sit for a minimum of 48 hours to get a true reading. 6% is no problem, just note the difference. I have one that does the same

The display doesn't change when turning the knob. One click = a 1% change in rh. Count the clicks + or - to adjust to 75% and re-test.
Read the instructions again.
I did the same thing.
