Humidity problem
Ok my 300 count humi has always kept a constant 70%. Until a week ago when i decided to remove the cello off of all my sticks. Well almost all of em ...I left a few on. A day later it crept up to 73% and two days after that it hit 78%!!! WTF? The humidity in the house hasnt changed at all. The temp in the humi is still about 69 or 70 degrees. I use a Le Veil humidifier that has worked flawless since i got it. Any ideas what happend?

Re: Humidity problem
That's weird, I used a Le Veil humidifier for quite a while before I sent it back it gave me nothing but trouble.
What are you going by the reading on the Le Veil or a separate hygrometer?

Re: Humidity problem
I do know that the transfer of humidity to a cigar that has a cello wrapper on it is slowed down but when you removed the cello and it increased might have something else going on. It is also known that a cigar with cello on the cigar can affect humidity levels in the humidor up and down. While cellophane is breathable, it is not ideal for maintaining the best possible climate for your cigars when they enter your humidor. Once a cigar levels out at a constant humidity, the tobacco absorbs and releases moisture in an effort to maintain equilibrium and consistency in your humidor. This might be what you are experiencing with a "spike" in RH. Do you have beads in your humidor? I'm thinking after a few days of acclimation of the change that you spoke about things will level out.

Re: Humidity problem
I lowered the Le Veil down to 63% and the RH in the humi dropped down to 72% in 2 days. Once its back to normal Ill try setting the humidifier back up.

Re: Humidity problem
Ive had this Le Veil for at least a year...What did they do when you sent it back? Give you a refund or a replacement? Cause if this happens again when I bump it back up to 68% Im definetly gettin rid of it and goin with beads. Ive got too much money invested to get ruined.
