air purifiers

Does anyone have any expirience with air purifiers such as the Czonka line? id like to invest in something for my basement where everyone goes to smoke. we tend to smoke out the windows but it still leaves a lingering odor the morning after. i also smoke a cigar now and then down there and tha really lingers. do these machines kill the odor? obviously it would be wise to invest in some sort of smoke sucking fan but they seem to be a bit overpriced for me. any info is appreciated.

Re: air purifiers

I use one of those window fans that can blow air in our exhaust out. I only have a 10x12 room so one fan does the job very well at sucking out the smoke. The Fiance cant even tell I have smoked in there. As far as Air purifiers I dont know about those. But a good portion of the smell is from the smoke if you let it linger, If you can get a fan that sucks out the smoke your golden.

My son bought us one of these for Christmas, and it works quite well.

Re: air purifiers

Suggest research the unit of choice on replacement filters. Purchased a Whirlpool at second hand store for $20, later found the HEPA filter runs $86, pleased with it. If decide to go this route, see if there's a mesh screen offered that rest against the HEPA filter, should extend the life of HEPA. When the Whirlpool melts down I may consider a Ion Generator, not sure, understand there are pro's and con's but do eliminate the odor.

Re: air purifiers

Best air purifier I have ever had,,,and have tried them all. Started with this unit about 13 years ago under another name but it's the same product. Gets rid of cigar smoke, undesirable scents and everything else you can imagine. You don't have to get new filters,,,you wash this one and it amazing. I paid over $300 for this same unit 13 years ago.
