Once it was seasoned it was holding a 68% steady for about 3 days so I added about 10 Sticks. It continued to hold a steady 68% - 70% for about another week. Then I recieved a shippment of cigars (45 of them). A couple of days after putting the 45 sticks in, the humidity has gone as high as 78%.It is now bouncing between 75% and 78%. I am using the stock old school humidifier for now until I can get a better system. Any clues on why the humidity would go up so much? The enviornment that the humidor is in has not changed.

Personally,I ALWAYS question the accuracy of an analog hygrometer, especially the ones that come with a humi, they are just cheap. Analogs often get their needle stuck or take time to adjust and i've seen some that just wouldn't stay accurate no matter what. It would be well worth it to spend $15 or so on a digital one that will give you the temprature as well.
You may have over filled your humidifier, take a hair dryer and dry it out a bit and see if that helps.
When you seasoned your humidor did you use distilled water and wipe down your trays and the inside of the humidor? If so you may have used too much if you did it this way. And, a lot of cigar places over humidify their cigars and the input could have raised it. But also a new humidor takes a couple of weeks to really settle down to where it's going to be.
Oh, 70% is ideal only at the temp of 70F but humidity will go down as the temp does and go up as the temp does so if your running a bit above 70 this will also affect your humidity.
