Lighter problem

I got a free Colibri lighter from CI. Bought some colibri butane filled it, now it won't light, it just shoots the butane straight up!!

There is a spark, ....I waited for the butane to warm up.....any ideas??

try adjusting the fuel..sometime if its set to high and to low it wont light

Thank you, I did adjust it....I got it to light but it goes right out

huh..maybe try letting all the fuel out then re filling it..

Certainly hope the free lighter wasn't a factor in whether or not you bought something from them.

1. It's free so it's got a high probability of being junk or non functional

2. Colibri is outta business.

That said, if you haven't seen one of these already, check one out. They get a good rep from most people, hold a lotta fuel and light religeously.

I tried that still having the same problem...I guess CI knew they had some crap lighters on hand, so they're just giving them out for free.

When you purge it (let all the fuel out) set theflame adjuster as low as it will go before you refuel. Then after the fuel warms back up try adjusting just a little at a time as you try to light it. Prob just a cheap lighter that won't ever work good. But its worth playing with it a little to try and get it to work.
