hygrometers off?

put my three digital hygrometers in the ziplock with the wet salt and after 6 hours they read 72, 65, and 63. Did I do something wrong or are the two really that off? Dnt think they're adjustable.

Re: hygrometers off?

Wow 3 digitals off that much with such different readings. I have not heard of that before. Possibly the ones closest to the liquid source in the bag or tupperware got the most humidity?!?

I did the salt test on my 2 digitals last night too. I used separate bags, the Diamond Crown read 68 and the Little Havana Read 74% at 6 hrs and 76% at 8. So, I'm happy about the LH but pissed off that the DC is off by that much. Don't think it's adjustable either.

leave them sit for at least 24 to 36 hours. They will even out.

All I use is Diamond Crown digital hydrometers. They are all on the money.... I wouldn't use anything else. I have about 8 of them....

Exactly. 6-8 hours isn't near enough time.

Keep them in the bag for that period? Is a capful of moisturized salt enough or do I need more? Pardon my ignorance.

That is enough. I used a cap off of a gallon of milk...put about a teaspoon of salt in it (give or take) and dampend it. It took all of 3 days for it to reach 70% in a tupperware container. It was fairly large cause I had 3 hygros in it. But in the end all 3 were only +or- 1 of each other.
