Newb salt test question

Being new to actually keeping gars in my own humidor I have seen posts talking about conducting salt tests on digital hydometers. I have never done this, can someone tell me what to do so i can ensure mine is working fine?

Take a tuperware container or ziplock bag. basically anything you can seal up tight. Place your hygro in it. Take a little cap like one off of a milk jug or something and put some salt in it.....like a teaspoon or so. Dampen the salt with distilled water....just dampen it...dont flood it! Place that in the container and seal it up. Leave it alone for 24 to 36 hours and check the RH. If its above or below 75% and you cant adjust the hygro just make note of it and add or subtract that from the readings in your humi. Not rocket science. If I can do it you can do it. I took a sharpie and wrote the + or - down on the hygro so I wont forget.
