Talking Question about Humidor

Hello,

I was looking to buy this Treasure Dome 250 count Humidor. Was wondering what is the use for those 2 brass things at the top? Its some kind of humidifying thing, but what goes in it? Do you just fill with water? Or is there something you buy to put inside?

Re: Question about Humidor

they are not brass .its plastic and you fill with distilled water for humidification.usually they have green florist foam inside

Re: Question about Humidor

If you fill them with plain distilled water you will over humidify your cigars and have problems with mold. With floral foam you need to use 50/50 Propelyne Glycol solution. This will regulate to 70%. But for a more fail safe solution I would recommend Heartfelt Industries beads.

+1 on the beads or gel, foam humidifiers with distilled water alone can be hit or miss.

Re: Question about Humidor

My vote is for the beads. I've been using 65% beads I got from Cigarmony for quite awhile and basically it's wet it and forget it.

By the way, I've got the same humidor and it works like a charm.

Re: Question about Humidor

Thanks guys. I was thinking of just getting the HUMI-CARE 4oz jar, seems like the work best, haven't heard anything bad on them.

Thanks
