Question seasoning humidor and beads question

I found out the hard way that there are no shortcuts to seasoning a humi.

I have a 50 ct humi. When I got it, I put all my cigars (that were in plastic bags) in it with a humi pillow. I figured that that was better than plastic. That *seemed* to work while I waited for the 70% small round container of beads and digital hygrometer from heartfelt.

When I got them, I calibrated the meter for over 30 hours and adjusted it, so that part is OK. But I overcharged the beads by leaving them in distilled water too long. They were all clear. Anyway, when I put it all in the humi, the rh was 61% after two days.

Right now, the cigars are back in plastic bags and I have a dish of distilled water in the humi. I'm going to leave it there for at least 7 days.

My question is, should I put the over charged beads in as well? I took them out to see if some of them would go white again. So far it hasn't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Leave the beads out to dry a bit. If they are not 25% white by the time your humi is seasoned you can dry them out with a hair dryer. Dont soak your beads, just mist them until they are 75/25 clear.
