Very easy to do with a V Cutter but you really only need just the one cut. As the brothers have said,,,this type of cut is almost the perfect depth,,,you never worry about tearing the cap off,,,it draws really well and keeps the integrity of the cigar right where you want it even if you are a chewer and leave it in your mouth a bit too long like I do.

I have a Boston Cutter I got 10 years ago and it cuts like brand new,,course I paid quite a bit for it but that amounts to only $10 a year.
There is a copy of the one I bought but can't attest to how long it would last for $25 but they look exactly the same.

Re: Are Cutters Overrated? Anything simpler?

I'm new to Puff as of today, but want to chime in on this discussion. In my opinion, the best cutter I own is a 316L scissor style cutter. It is approximately 6 inches in length from cutter to handle. I get a perfect cut everytime. Also, my local knife shop sharpens it for $2.00. Cutters do make a difference to me. It does not matter if the cigar is a $3.00 or $25.00 smoke. The cutter should do the job everytime!!!
