How many Boveda packs for Herf-a-dor?

Hello all,

I'm a newbie to the boards so I appreciate any answers I can get!

I have a 5-count Herf-a-dor and am wondering how many Boveda packs I need for it? I know everything I've read states you need at least 2 packs for up to a 50-count humidor, but wasn't sure about quick trips with the Herf...

Can I just get by with 1 pack or does the system need 2 packs to work correctly?

Thanks!

The herf a dors may have the foam insert in it. You can use a little distilled water for it to maintain humidity. I dont think a boveda pack is necessary for a 5 ct herf a dor. How long are they gonna be in there

Just pour a very small amount of distilled water on the foam insert in the lid... That's what it's for. It doesn't hold much water but doesn't need to.

I think you can safely leave cigars in there indefinitely as long as you maintain the water and open it up from time to time to allow a little exchange of air. No extra humidification necessary.

Just little, I have the 15 ct and I love it, I can leave cigars in there for over a week at a time and it is fine

I wouldn't think you'd need any humidification for shorter trips, and for longer ones either use 1 boveda pack or a dash of PG solution in the built-in humidifier.

If you are going to keep your cigars in there for less than a few weeks then you need no extra humidity....

load, open, pick, close smoke......

easy

Re: How many Boveda packs for Herf-a-dor?

Wow, you guys are quick! Thanks so much for the quick responses.

I am mainly using it for weekend trips and didn't think I needed any humidification, but was wondering more for 1 or 2 week trips. I have read places that it isn't a good idea to use the small foam insert that comes inside and would prefer to use Boveda instead.

Thanks again!

I use 1(69rh) in my 15 count. It will last forever in the air tight enviroment.
