Have used Tupperware and a Dorm Fridge (Wasnt plugged in very much) There are a ton of different ideas! as long as it hold Humidity and doesnt impart flavors to the cigar it works.. Shawn

Re: alternate storage methods?
This is the bulk method of choice by most. (without the fish of course)

Re: alternate storage methods?
To add to coolers, ziplocks, tupperwares, I've also seen seal-top jars and room humidors before.

Re: alternate storage methods?
Another option used by many is a wine cooler, the advantage over a cooler is your able to regulate the temperature, the drawback is they cost a little more. search Vinotemp you should find a lot of info.

![]() ok back to topic.... people will use many different things... there are hundreds of informative posts on this site... use the search function it helps greatly... rule of thumb #1- bigger is better! u will be shocked at how quickly your collection will multiply... always buy something at least 2x larger than u think u need... trust me its a slippery slope... the reason alot of guys favor cooleadors is that they hold tons of smokes are easy to maintain and are cheap so if u have to get another one, its not as big of an investment as a brand new humidor... good luck and welcome to the dark side... its fun ben |

Re: alternate storage methods?
Ive been storing my overflow stock in a 5x5x10" piece of tupperware. Got a few thin spanish cedar sheets from the local cigar store and threw them in there with half a shotglass full of heartfert 65% beads.
Has been holding a solid 68-69% humidity for a couple weeks now. |

Re: alternate storage methods?
The easiest (to setup and maintain), cheapest, LONG TERM solution is a cooler. All you need to do is go buy a BIG one, wipe it out with soap and water, get some beads, fill it with cigars/cigar boxes/digital hygro, and you're all set for years of enjoyment.

Re: alternate storage methods?
Amen to this. If you don't care about "pretty" humidors and just want a place to store your smokes you can't do any better than this. Get a HUGE cooler and you are set.

Re: alternate storage methods?
I started with a good size tupperware and quickly filled it up. bdw1984 is correct. Get one that you think will never fill up. I moved to a cooler for this fact. Because it will fill up!
