Electronic humidification repair
I bought a used humidor about a year ago which included an electronic humidification system (Cigar Oasis). For about the last month, the fan has been making a loud noise when it runs that sounds like a groan. It is so loud that you can hear it across the room with the humidor closed. The fan does not seem to be running at full speed either, and I have noticed a drop of about 5-7 points in my RH. I had a chip cooling fan on a computer do the same thing, because the bearings were shot. Can I replace the fan without having to replace the entire system?

I called Cigar Oasis and they said they will fix my humidifier, no matter what is wrong with it, for $35. I believe this is the way I will go. Now I need to find something to keep my cigars humidified during the week or so that the thing is gone.

yeah if i had to guess I would say the problem is with the motor or the fan either a rust or residue on center bearing of the fan. probably good to have the company fix it for you.

Getting ready to mail it this afternoon. They said a week or so until it gets back. It may never make it back into the humidor, because I bought some Heartfelt beads from a fellow Puffer to keep in the humidor while it's gone. It may just wind up for sale upon its return.
