Heartfelt Bead Question

I have a question about the beads. I have a 70% tube that is working well in my 50ct Humidor (thanks!) for the past week or so.

I have a trip this summer that will keep me away for about a month. Do you think that the beads will stay humidified and constant for that month, or should i add another (50ct) tube in there to work with the one I have now? Will that keep it humidified for a longer period of time?

Re: Heartfelt Bead Question

More beads never hurts. Having an excess amount increases the 'buffering' capacity, however I find that in the summer months, beads tend to be more stable because they don't dry as quickly as in winter.

Bottom line, if you can afford to do it, why not?

Thanks. I am also seeing that my beads have not dried much at all.

If you have a good seal the beads will last a pretty long time especially since no one will be opening the lid while you are gone. You should be OK but a few extra beads cannot hurt.

Re: Heartfelt Bead Question

I you have a good seal I think they will last forever provided you aren't opening them. I have an army ammo box lined with spanish cedar that I travel with, it is always the same RH when I open it(thanks beads). The thing is air tight though, you could tie a bunch of these things together and make a nice raft.
