HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT STAY on the top of the lid on the Humidor
Hi, all.
Just got my first humidor set up and it's awesome. But the glue on the magnetic squares for the humidifier will not keep it staying on the top of the lid. It continues to slip and fall onto my precious cigars. Can I use super glue to make it stick? Any other things I can do to keep it stuck to the lid of the box? |

I would use the self-adhesive velcro.
Superglue has a strong odor so I would not use it.

Agree. Stay away from anything with odor. A high temp craft glue gun works too.

Yes, velcro is exactly what I used. It does not give off an odor and the humidifier can be removed if you decide you don't want it there anymore.

Re: HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT STAY on the top of the lid on the Humidor
I had the problem where my humidifier puck was coming off of it's magnet backer, and thus not staying on the lid myself... I used some craft glue to glue the magnet to the puck and voila! Problem solved.

So I can use a hot glue gun and you all think that would be effective?
Thanks for the replies. |

I would personally recommend velcro. I've used it plenty and it's a great way to make minor touch ups with your humidifier without damaging your humidor.

Re: HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT STAY on the top of the lid on the Humidor
Same thing happened to me. I think it happened though because I humidified by humidor before trying to attach the humidifier to the lid. I used velcro at the suggestion of other puff forum members as other alternatives can leave a nasty smell.

Re: HUMIDIFIER WILL NOT STAY on the top of the lid on the Humidor
So long as whatever you do, you let it air out a bit outside the humidor before putting it back in. You might even consider putting it in a ziploc bag for a day, then open and smell. Any off odours? Give it some more time, or come up with an alternative strategy. If the humidor is large enough, a slight scent will probably go unnoticed initially, but could have adverse effects in the long run. Velcro, or hot glue gun will work fine. Both are generally odourless.

Red, 3M mounting tape. I could mount myself to the ceiling with the stuff.
