Question Oasis XL with this Humidor?

I'm considering upgrading to this humidor soon Lexington Cabinet - Tampa Humidor

I have a Cigar Oasis XL and was wondering if it would be enough to keep this humidor properly humidified

Should be fine. I use one in a larger humidor and it works perfectly. I should add that I put a small fan in to circulate the air to keep the RH more even throughout the humidor.

What type of fan do you use? Do you run the fan all the time?

I use a usb fan like this with an ac adapter like this and a programmable timer that turns it on for 15 minutes every few hours.

My Oasis came with an extra fan that only runs when the main fan runs. It seems to work out well in my system.

They make a specific Fan system for the Oasis XL and it is around $9/USD.

The only fan system they sell here is for the Cigar Oasis II XL which is a different animal. That's why some people get the Hydra units as they have extra fans available.

Re: Oasis XL with this Humidor?

I have a free standing humidor a bit smalller that this one.

Generally speaking (and there are a lot of variables) cigar humidifacation iis about adding humidty in the colder, drier months & removing humidity
in the warmer, more humid months. I live in New England. I had been using the Oasis XL until recently when I switched to 65% r/h Heartfelt beads. The Oasis only adds humidity. It does not remove humidty. My hydro has been reading between 66-69 which is great for me. I'm figuring I'll put the Oasis back in the winter along with the beads. If it gets too dry, I'll switch to 70% beads.

The Oasis XL will be fine.

Get a half pound of beads if you are paranoid like me. I use them together to be extra safe

Re: Oasis XL with this Humidor?

I have some beads which worked great when I lived in Florida. I struggled with em in the Las Vegas Desert for about a year, where the humidity rarely creeps above 30%. I finally got the Oasis about a month ago. It seems to be working well in my 100 count, though I notice the Oasis reports a little higher than the number it's set at. Maybe I should throw some beads in also to keep the rh from getting high.

If you have the beads no harm in putting them in there just to be safe. As for the readout on the Cigar Oasis unit, they're notorious for being off. I use a reliable hygro in the humidor to measure the RH and adjust the CO accordingly. Once it's on the right number it'll be remarkably steady.
